Those blue shells always get me… // LEGO Mario Kart MOC with New 2021 Road Plates

I can’t believe I actually found a way to combine my love of LEGO Super Mario with the 2021 road plates – my two favorite things

I had been wanting to make a LEGO Mario Kart MOC ever since I found out the new 2021 road plates would have inter-changeable tiles on top! This allows Mario to actually scan the different bar codes and collect coins to win the game (race?)! I’ve built LEGO Mario a kart as well as the kart for Bowser Jr. There are also so many fun accessories here including the banana, blue shell, red shell, green shell, and chain chomp! I used pieces from the LEGO Super Mario expansion packs in Series 1 and Series 2 to create the scenery. There are two karts and two courses included here!

I think I’d like to make a few more karts in the future – maybe for Bowser and Toad. What do you think? What would you like to see next?
