Perhaps the biggest LEGO shilling in history occurred over the weekend in an article on Brickset where the writer claimed that in 30 years the price of LEGO sets hasn’t really changed. Price Per Piece as a sole evaluation of a LEGO set’s value is flawed and will only become more flawed as LEGO pieces stop shrinking and prices keep rising. There are many concrete examples of LEGO Star Wars sets going UP in price such as Battle Packs going from $10 in 2007 to $20 in 2022. The UCS Death Star Playset’s $100 price increase in 2016.
