LEGO Factory Store Shopping Spree!

Visiting the LEGO Fabrik (LEGOLand Germany Factory Store) was a bucketlist item! This store is a full-on LEGO experience. You start with an educational film (super short! less than 5 minutes) about how LEGO bricks are made, then exit into a mini LEGO factory. You are able to see bricks being molded, printed, and boxed up as well as how LEGO Minifigures are built by machines. That part was fun, but the BEST part (and why we came all the way to the LEGO Fabrik at LEGOLand Germany) was the actual LEGO shopping experience.

They had 100s, maybe 1000s of different LEGO pieces all available to purchase. There are small limits (100g per piece, per person, per day) but these don’t stop you from getting all the parts you could want. It was a very expensive experience – $120 tickets, hotel, trains to/from the city where LEGOLand was located, taxis to/from the hotel, but the priciest part was the actual LEGO shopping. You pay by weight, not by volume, and that made it a different game than we are used to. I don’t think we got a good value on bricks based on how much we paid, but the experience overall was worth it!
